Our size is part of our strength: it allows us to stay accessible, responsive, and personally invested in every project while bringing the depth of experience needed to solve complex engineering challenges.

Built on a Foundation of Excellence
T. Blake Wilson was born in West Texas in 1955. He began his engineering career after graduating from the University of New Mexico (UNM) in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Following graduation, Blake joined Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation in Denver, Colorado, where he designed structural components and facilities for nuclear, hydroelectric, and coal-fired power plants. During his time there, he contributed to projects across several states, including Colorado, Wyoming, Washington, New York, Massachusetts, and Texas.
In 1987, Blake married his wife, and together they have three children and four grandchildren.Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for engineering, Blake founded Blake Wilson Engineering in 1994. Over the course of his career, he has completed thousands of structural and aquatic engineering projects throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. He is professionally licensed in 32 states, allowing the firm to serve clients across a broad geographic region while maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence.
Blake has built a reputation for delivering practical, innovative engineering solutions with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to exceptional client service. Under his leadership, the firm became a trusted engineering partner for residential and commercial structural projects, as well as aquatic facilities including swimming pools, water features, and related structures.
On July 1, 2026, Blake officially retired from the day-to-day leadership of the company and passed the torch to the next generation. While retired from his leadership role, he continues to serve BWE Design Group as a consultant, providing valuable insight and mentorship while sharing more than four decades of engineering knowledge and experience with the team and its clients.
